Weekly Price Watch: Intel & AMD CPUs

This week as well, the downward trend in the older Athlon Throughbred series continues with prices dropping by a few dollars. However, prices for many of the Palomino Athlon series remain unchanged. Also, none of the products listed in our AMD CPU database seem to have faced an increase in pricing. The biggest price drop was the Athlon XP 2800+ (Barton) which dropped from the previous spot price of $387 to the current spot price of $378. At the highest spot price this week was the Athlon XP 3000+ (Barton) at $590. The lowest spot price was occupied by the Palomino Athlon XP 1500+ at $44.

Intel seems to have lowered it prices for all its product categories except the Pentium 4 1.3GHz CPU which is now retailing at an increased spot price of $201.76, up from the last spot price of $109. The highest spot price this week was occupied by the Pentium 4 3.06GHz at $559, down from last week's spot price of $572. At the lowest spot price this week was the Pentium 4 1.8MHz at $133.
