Lucian Moon is on the move. In fact, movement is at the very core of what he stands for. Having shared the experience of starting skating with him, I've always known of his natural ability and his eye for obscurity. His artwork speaks a similar, if not more complex, language. His work unfolds in layers; he is the graphic mastermind behind Satori Movement wheels and Yellow Brand skateboards and is also an accomplished fine artist. His distinct graphic approach with Satori pays homage to Japanese aesthetics and comics like Mobius Trip, fused with a strong symbolic association. His paintings are ornate and vibrant, with textural parallels to the work of Gustav Klimt and Alphonse Mucha. As with his skating, Lucian's art takes on an exaggerated otherness that seems to transport you to the peaks and valleys of Narnia ... er, Humboldt.
