Jungle Music. - sound recording reviews

Jungle Music by Black/Note (Columbia CK 57825)--I hope that this will not be the last time we will hear from this group of talented musicians. Every now and then a new sound comes along with fresh ideas and imagination, and this CD represents one of those times. While there is practically no information in the liner notes, the music says it all. Real tight. Nobody crowds anybody. Thanks, Al Pryor. The group, which includes Mark Shelby on bass, Willie Jones III on drums, James Mahone on alto, Ark Sano on piano, Gilbert Castellanos on trumpet, and Phil Vieux on tenor and soprano, plays its own compositions.
