Following elections for 2004/2005, Jim Ferrin, CGCS, Whitney Oaks Golf Course, will head the group as the new President. Jim has been a very active member of our board and association for many years and we look forward to his guidance as our President this year. Phil Brown has been elected to the Vice President position after serving as a director. Kyle Dykstra will remain as the association Secretary/Treasurer.

Frank Putnam, Mace Meadows Golf Course, and Bill Kissick, CGCS, of Mather Golf Course, are newly elected board members. Elected for a second term on the board was Mike Olson, Oakdale C.C. Sam Samuelson, CGCS, will remain on the board for another term and Kevin Breen, CGCS, will serve the association as the Past President. Newly elected affiliate representative to the board is Stan Adam of the Wilbur Ellis Co. Senior affiliate representative Manuel Pina of Ewing Irrigation will serve another year for the association.

The Sierra Nevada Chapter will play host to the Annual CGCSA State Meeting in 2005. "REALTY CHECK 2005" The Golf Course Superintendent's Future in the Workplace will be held at the Harrah's Resort in Reno, Nevada, May 15, 16, & 17. The Annual CGCSA Golf Tournament will be held at the D'Andrea Golf & Country Club in Sparks, NV. Scott Wackowski will host the tournament. Look for more information to follow. We hope to make this the best State Meeting ever. Education will be superb and the format unique. Be sure to put this on your calendar as a "CAN'T MISS" event.
