Building better soil

Soil Technologies Corp. has released TurfTech Bio-Min, a new re-mineralizer and bio-inoculant for golf course turf. The patented technology combines three agronomic tools in one formula. The company says its research on the product has demonstrated that it reduces fertilizer requirements, suppresses common turfgrass pathogens, and improves water infiltration.

One of its unique contributions is the addition of a micronized volcanic rock powder that delivers over 60 trace elements not found in conventional N-P-K fertilizer. When applied to soil and plants, TurfTech Bio-Min strengthens the cell wall and activates enzyme activity. The result is turfgrass that resists damage by diseases, mowing, frost, and drought, says the company.

The TurfTech Bio-Min product can be applied with ground spray rigs or through irrigation injection systems. Applied at four-week intervals during the growing season, TurfTech Bio-Min provides an economical way to build and maintain an ideal soil.
