Shopping
Shan, HanIn my country bumpkin village,
I am known as nonpareil.
Yesterday, in town, the city dogs
Curled their lips at me: "Unknown Pariah."
Haute couture held my pants too tight.
Fashion fancied my shirt a rag.
Distract that critic-hawk of the world,
And watch the swallow-tailed sparrows cut a caper.
