Lil' Gun 410 Powder - Brief Article
Holt BodinsonHodgdon has just released a new shotgun powder especially formulated for the .410 gauge. Called Lil' Gun, the new powder is an ideal replacement for the magnum pistol powders, like 2400, 296 and H110, which often prove too bulky and slow for optimum performance in the smallest of all shotgun bores.
With a bulk density and burning speed matched precisely to the 410, Lil' Gun requires lighter powder charges providing better ignition characteristics in the long, narrow case, more uniform velocities and improved patterns. For example, a 1,200 fps loading with 1/2 oz. of shot in a 2 1/2" AA case calls for a meagerly 11.9 grs. of Lil' Gun.
If you are a handgunner as well, Lil' Gun will prove useful in every caliber from .32 H&R Magnum to the .500 Linebaugh. For the rifleman, current Lil' Gun data includes loads for the .22 Hornet, .30 Carbine and the .32-40 Win. This is a flexible little powder.
Shotshell, handgun and rifle loading data should be available from your nearest stocking dealer or from Hodgdon.
