PUNCH FRICTION AS A GIRL SUES TARANTINO FOR pounds 10m
ROSA PRINCECULT movie director Quentin Tarantino is being sued for pounds 10million by a girl who claims he assaulted her.
Fashion stylist Leila Mwangi says Tarantino, maker of hit films Jackie Brown, Pulp Fiction and Reservoir Dogs, split open her eyebrow when he punched her during a drunken row with her boyfriend Barron Clairborne in a New York restaurant earlier this month.
Leila, 24, filed a suit in Manhattan on Friday claiming she was: "Wantonly, brutally and maliciously attacked, assaulted, beaten and battered without provocation."
She said the attack caused "severe nervous shock and mental anguish, great physical pain and emotional upset".
The couple claim the assault was race-related because they are both black and Tarantino is white.
They say an argument began while Clairborne and Tarantino were discussing the portrayal of blacks in films.
Mr Clairborne said: "Quentin took a swing at me. I ducked and he hit my girlfriend. I hit him back and then everyone jumped in to break it up. Leila had a huge gash on her head."
New York police confirmed they have launched a criminal investigation.
Tarantino is already being sued for pounds 3million for allegedly assaulting film producer Don Murphy in October, by slamming him against a wall.
