B-Series stretches out - business news - Mazda - Brief Article
One of the world's most popular pick-ups is to undergo a number of changes to the line-up, the most significant being the introduction of a `stretch cab' version.
Having sold in excess of three million worldwide since its launch in 1968 the B-Series Pick-Up can rightfully claim to be one of the most enduring commercial vehicles in the market today.
In the 34 years since its launch it has undergone many changes to keep it one of the most popular pick-ups on the market and from January 2002 a stretch cab version of the single cab will be available.
Powered by the powerful 2.5-litre turbo diesel engine and priced competitively at 14,297.66 [pounds sterling] the Stretch Cab will come equipped with body colour bumpers, central door locking, driver's and passenger airbag, electric door mirrors, electric windows, immobiliser and Mazda's standard three year 60,000 mile warranty.
In addition to the Stretch Cab, the turbo diesel is now also available in a 4x4 single cab version giving 107bhp and 266Nm torque for those who require maximum load space and plenty of power for those difficult driving surfaces.
The single cab diesel also improves in power with an extra 5bhp and 27Nm in torque, giving it 83bhp and 195Nm torque.
