Vauxhall Combo has lowest running costs - business news - Brief Article
Vauxhall's all-new Combo van has the lowest running costs for any light commercial vehicle on Britain's roads, according to CAP Monitor, the independent benchmark guide to future commercial vehicle values.
New Combo 1.7Di will cost just 8.23 pence per mile over a three year, 90,000 mile period.
That gives Combo a 10 per cent advantage over the average 9.19 pence per mile running cost for its sector.
"Low running costs are paramount when choosing a commercial vehicle and Vauxhall has produced a winning combination of low depreciation and servicing costs in the new Combo," said John Watts, Editor of CAP Commercial Vehicle Monitor.
"As an all-new van it is expected to be desirable when it enters the used market and is forecast to command a premium, resulting in the low cost of depreciation. The van also has extended service intervals which further reduces user costs."
Vauxhall also takes third position, with the 1.7 DTi Combo. The Astravan is also in the sector's top 10, a record only matched by Peugeot.
Says Chris Kearney, Vauxhall vans brand manager: "We worked enormously hard during the Combo development to build in minimum running costs. It is gratifying that our efforts have paid off, because we know that even fractions of pennies matter over 90,000 miles."
