Swalec Cup holders Pontypridd left small-fry Felinfoel battered and beaten in this sixth round thrashing.

The Fifth Division outfit were just no match for Ponty, who fielded a dozen of the team that lifted the cup last May.

It was one way traffic all afternoon at the Recreation Ground with skipper Neil Jenkins leading the way with 30 points including two tries and tenconversions.

And winger David Manley went over for four of Pontypridd's incredible tally of 14 tries.

There was also a hat-trick of scores for full-back Crispin Cormack as Pontypridd were irresistible in their challenge for a second consecutive cup title.

It was reminiscent of the beginning of last season's campaign when they stuck 102 points on Llanharn.

Pontypridd had the tie wrapped up midway through the first half when they went 26-0 ahead.

And they passed 50 points just five minutes into the second half.

To be fair to spirited Felinfoel, whose president is Welsh legend Phil Bennett, they never gave up.

And they got the reward they deserved with a consolation try from centre Barrie Maddocks in the second half.

The defence of Pontypridd's title started with a five-try burst in the first 25 minutes as they led 33-0 before Felinfoel opened their account with a penalty from outside half Kevin Thomas.

And the Pontypridd try machine got up and running again as they scored two more tries before half time to lead 47-3.

That advantage was extended to 64-3 ten minutes into the second half and a century points looked on the cards.

And even after Felinfoel touched down for the try, Pontypridd continued to bury the home side.

The referee saved Felinfoel from more punishment by blowing up five minutes from time. The minnows can now concentrate on their promotion bid.
