Football: Fulham go third
MARK OLIVERON LOAN Kyle Lightbourne sealed the points for flourishing Fulham but will return to Coventry and his wife, who will make him a father soon.
His 56th minute stunner finished off goal-shy Southend and ensured the Cottagers' rise to third place.
Fulham always looked like extending their unbeaten run to nine games after Paul Peschisolido neatly finished a Paul Trollope through ball on 25 minutes.
The bottom-placed visitors only really threatened Miak Taylor's goal once when sub Nathan Jones clipped the bar and Alvin Martin's team have now played 520 minutes without scoring.
But the loss of Lightbourne is a problem for Fulham boss Ray Wilkins, who admits: "We already have strikers injured. We wanted Kyle for another month."
