Drug deals at funerals
Patrick RyanDrug dealers are using funerals to carry out their evil trade. The pushers and addicts mingle with mourners to swop cash and drugs safe from the prying eyes of police.
A Dublin detective said last night: "The dealers mix with the mourners and join in the prayers. The families, of course, don't know them - but assume they were colleagues or friends of the deceased.
"It's sick. These dealers have no conscience. They would flog drugs at their own mother's funeral."
The dealers target the funerals from reading death notices in newspapers.
But the detective said: "Now we know what's happening we will be taking action - without impinging on the bereaved family's feelings."
