Hun Sen escapes bomb attack in Siem Reap, boy killed
SIEM REAP, Cambodia, Sept. 24 Kyodo
Cambodia's top leader Hun Sen escaped without injury Thursday when a rocket-propelled bomb exploded some 10 meters from his car in the northwestern town of Siem Reap, police said.
A boy was killed and three other persons were injured in the attack, police said.
The explosion occurred on a road about 1 kilometer from King Norodom Sihanouk's villa around 9 a.m., shortly before the new Cambodian parliament was convened, they said.
The Cambodian parliament convened by the king opened its first session at the king's villa with members elected in the July 26 general election.
