Exilio Latino
NIGEL WATSONOne of the most wonderful things about London's gay scene is its sheer scope and multicoloured diversity. It's not just about pumped- up muscle boys dancing to house, you know. The city's littered with clubs with specialisms and music policies so far reaching the mind boggles. One of the best examples of these is Exilio Latino. Exilio specialises in all things Latino, ranging from salsa to merengue to the Latin-influenced chart acts such as Justin, J-Lo et al.
This week sees the club cross many oceans as it builds a bridge between Latin America, London and the Orient for its Oriental night. Expect costumes to be intricate, exciting and not just a little bit risque. There's even a rumour of a sumo fight for those of you that fancy your chances in the ring.
As ever, there'll be an excellent selection of traditional and contemporary Latin sounds and, if you visit www.exilio.co.uk, you can even put in a request. So dust off your dancing shoes and make your night special with a song just for that special boy or girl in your life. It's all very Strictly Ballroom.
