Channel 4 cancels party... for a while
Sarah ShannonA CHANNEL 4 documentary on bad behaviour at office Christmas parties was stopped halfway through transmission last night, writes Sarah Shannon.
Viewers barely had a chance to watch bus drivers from Sheffield stripping and City professionals having a drinking competition before the programme stopped during a commercial break. An announcer said that part two had been pulled due to a "late edit".
Instead, the Channel 4 audience was treated to a political profile of Tony Benn. Station chiefs later decided to screen the programme at midnight. The announcer apologised "for any confusion". A Channel 4 spokesman said today: "The problem was simply a technical fault we didn't have to take anything out. 'Late edit' was probably a misleading term to use and the programme went out once the technical problem was sorted out."
