Exfo's loss narrows as demand rises
Exfo Electro-Optical Engineering reported a smaller third-quarter loss as demand increased for its fiber optic test systems. Quebec City-based Exfo reported a net loss of $1.2 million, or 2 cents a share, for the quarter ended May 31. That compared with a net loss of $38.4 million, or 61 cents a share, in the same period a year earlier. Analysts had expected, on average, a loss of 1 cent a share. Sales increased 35.4 percent to $20.5 million from $15.1 million last year.
