Triumph Communications Provides Video Transmission Services to ABC for Political Conventions - Brief Article

Triumph Communications, a Liberty Livewire company and a provider of private digital fiber video networks, is providing the American Broadcasting Corp. (ABC) with video transmission services for ABC's broadcast of both the Republican and Democratic National Conventions.

Triumph provided ABC with four digital fiber optic video transmissions from the First Union Arena in Philadelphia to the ABC Network in New York. Triumph also provided the five paths from the Staples Center in Los Angeles to the ABC network in New York. The circuits were dedicated for ABC's use 24hours per day for seven days during the network's convention coverage.

In each instance, Triumph's technicians and staff members were available at the convention to support ABC's service. ABC used these circuits to transmit delivery of its convention news coverage to network headquarters in New York, as well as a Washington, DC teleport.

Triumph's integrated compression service provides the highest level of video quality and utilities a SONET protected fiber optic network. "We are excited about providing ABC with a reliable, superior video transmission service for this high-profile special event," said Elio Parente, Triumph's vice president of operations.

Triumph's Video Service center, located in NewYork City, monitored the ABC Convention feeds 24 hours per day.
