Nightclubber shot in watch attack
Anna PearcePOLICE are investigating the shooting of a nightclubber who was fighting off two Rolex robbers.
The 21-year-old and his friends were leaving the Colosseum club in Nine Elms Lane, Vauxhall, at 2am to return to his car when they were attacked.
As the victim tried to get into the car two men, one carrying a handgun, told him to hand over his watch worth GBP 800. He refused and during the struggle which followed he was shot in the shoulder and his watch was stolen.
The shot victim is now recovering at home after being treated in hospital for the wound.
His attackers escaped in a maroon Citroen Xantia, with an S or T registration number and travelled north across Vauxhall Bridge. A police spokeswoman said: "We have no reason to think it is connected with other recent Rolex robberies. But officers on the case are liaising with officers doing those investigations."
Police are appealing for anyone who saw the incident on Monday 23 August to come forward. The gunman is described as black. He was wearing a hooded top
