Rugby Union: DEFIANT TYKES BOSS VOWS TO BATTLE ON
SIMON EVANSLEEDS Tykes chief Phil Davies has vowed to keep fighting after this demoralising defeat.
The Welshman said: "I am very disappointed. We made too many errors which cost us dearly.
"But its no good sticking your head up your a**e. We have got 12 or 15 games left and we are not giving up. It's not in my nature to give up."
With the bonus point in the bag by half-time, Gloucester's replacement winger Marcel Garvey was gifted a try by his opposite number, former Bradford Bulls team-mate Graham MacKay, who claimed he thought the ball was going into touch when Garvey kicked ahead.
MacKay was left lagging in no-mans-land as Kingsholme erupted. Ludovic Mercier converted. After the game MacKay said: "I thought the ball was going out but it didn't. The lucky bounces are just not going our way at the moment."
Moments later another MacKay error allowed Robert Todd through for Gloucester's sixth try.
Leeds' only response came through a John Benson penalty on four minutes and two consolation tries in the second half.
