Your Letters: A royal embarrassment
S M WoodYOUR revelation that a mentally-disturbed cousin of The Queen has been shunned by the Royal Family is unsurprising. The upper classes have always regarded mental illness as an embarrassment. George V and Queen Mary's epileptic son, John, lived apart from the family and was never seen in public. The Royal Family treated the late Princess of Wales callously when she was suffering post-natal depression. They were also impatient with Princess Margaret during her illness. How different the Royals are from the rest of us.
