Your Letters: Peace at what price?

RESIDENTS of Crossmaglen are quick to call for the Army watchtowers to be dismantled in the name of peace.

If they looked around them, they might discover that peace has not yet returned to Northern Ireland.

Bombs, shootings, stabbings, paramilitary style beatings... these haven't gone away you know, using the words of one well known northern politician.

As long as there is a threat to society the watchtowers should remain.
