THE BOYS SAY:

FOR four glorious years we lived in central Birmingham, the period during which we worked for Auntie Beeb. When we arrived, however, some six years back we couldnt get to grips with the hotch potch city. But now Britains second city is a wonderful example of urban regeneration. Aye, Brum is no longer glum!

This particular development isnt too far from where we stayed and its central location will appeal to many. The pounds 165k price tag for this duplex home is a touch on the pricey side. The serious upside is the award-winning building in which this designer home is located a beautiful former almshouse with well-tended common grounds.

The apartments courtyard is a positive asset which will help future- proof your investment as these days everyone wants a little outdoor space which they wont have to share.

Indoors the finish is a mix of top-end spec (the kitchen is FAB) and some disappointing fixtures such as faux panelled interior doors which look like theyve fallen off the shelves of a budget DIY chain. At this price wed have expected something a little more luxurious.

Also take into account the living rooms very odd angles which will either detract or enhance its initial appeal.

And remember, theres no such thing as a free lunch. Yup, that package of freebies may well have been factored into the price.

Just where should we send the Congratulations on Your New Home card? Oh yes, to Garden Court, Birmingham. Enjoy!
