CAROLINE ELLIOTTFOR those addicted to Coronation Street or EastEnders, here's your chance to direct your very own soap opera. You select a cast of families, build them homes (pre-generated or customised), choose their careers (scientist, policeman, pop star, pizza guy or even crook) and then run their lives. It's great fun, but, as in real life, it's not easy. The characters are designed to react to the tiniest facets of their environment and people around them. Each family unit is allotted a specific sum of money: spend it all on a flashy house, but forget to install, say, a toilet, and they won't be happy.
A stroppy Sim won't want to learn job or people skills. Result: dead-ends-ville. Play your cards right, however, and you'll end up with the frothiest soap this side of Albert Square (or Ramsey Street - you can swap notes with players the world over).
