Hey, you look a little familiar, baby ... have we met before?

If there's one dad you can always rely on to be different, it's Jack Nicholson.

As celebrity fathers take inspiration from Bob Geldof's battle for custody of his children, Jack...well, quite simply, Jack doesn't.

While the legendary Hollywood playboy spends his nights dating beautiful woman and sipping champagne in expensive restaurants, his pretty two-year-old daughter sits home alone wondering about the dad she has never known.

Pictured for the first time today, the little girl, whose name has never been revealed, is the lovechild of Jack's brief affair with ex- waitress Jennine Gourin.

A friend said: "Jack has been partying around New York, where he's been filming for the past few weeks. He went out to dinner with gorgeous actress Ashley Judd. Another evening he was out clubbing until four in the morning.

"If he made the effort to visit Jennine and his daughter he'd be amazed at the change in them both.

"The little girl is becoming the spitting image of her father - you can really see Jack's features in her face. And Jennine has matured greatly over the last few years. She is 23 now and has become a very attractive mother.

"She has had her long hair cut in a new trendy style. She is far from the young, impressionable girl who fell victim to Jack's considerable charms years ago."

Jack supports Jennine and the baby financially, but a visit seems to be more than he can manage.

Jennine, however, doesn't seem to mind. She says: "I'm not mad about the ways things are right now. I'm not bitter and I'm not planning to file any kind of lawsuit against him.

"The baby came out of love, not money."

Which is just as well for Jack. When it comes to absent fathers, he's the daddy of them all.
