IN FERMANAGH-SOUTH Tyrone, now that an SDLP/Sinn Fein pact seems firmly out of the question, the big issue is whether the DUP is going to run a candidate to undermine pro-Agreement Ulster Unionist James Cooper at dire risk of letting a nationalist in.

Latest news is that the decision has been left to the DUP offficer- board.

Clearly, they'll have to put in a lot of late-night thinking on this one.

It seems clear that if Cooper doesn't get a straight run, Sinn Fein's Michelle Gildernew will shortly be abstaining from taking her Westminster seat.
