FOOTBALL: TOP CATS MAUL MILLERS; MILLWALL 4 ROTHERHAM 0
STEVE GRIFFITHSMARK McGhee believes his Lions need just three more wins to clinch promotion after flooring title rivals Rotherham.
Goals from Tim Cahill, Steven Reid and two for Steve Claridge destroyed the visitors and put Millwall three points clear.
McGhee said: "If we had lost we could have forgotten about the title and we would have been hoping for second at best. But now we control our own destiny. It could be that we need just three wins."
Australian midfielder Cahill gave Millwall just reward for an electric start, in front of their biggest crowd of the season, in the 13th minute.
And after Reid had made it two from a Paul Ifill free kick, Rotherham were reduced to 10 men when late-tackling Alan Lee got a second yellow card.
Claridge put the result beyond doubt in the 42nd minute, heading home from close range.
And the veteran grabbed a second seven minutes into the second half with a stunning 25-yard chip.
