Magnificent seven for flying Swansea;
TOM PAGESuper Swansea nailed neighbours Neath with seven tries to keep a firm hold of the First Division lead last night.
And the star of their mauling was man of the match Andy Booth with a hat trick of first half tries.
Swansea, who took maximum bonus points from this impressive display, were always going to have the upper hand.
Reigning champs Neath were plagued by a string of injuries which included key forwards John Davies and Steve Williams.
Neath, winners over Swansea on their previous two occasions, had no answer to their opponent's strength up front and speed behind.
It was obvious from the start that Swansea were dominant in the scrums and it was a pushover that produced scrum half Booth's first try on 14 minutes.
He added two more on 24 and 34 minutes as Neath began to crumble.
Quicksilver wing Simon Davies rushed away for try number four as rampant Swansea opened up a 32-3 half-time lead.
But after the break, the floodgates closed and it was Neath who grabbed a try when outside half Paul Williams pounced on an error by opposite number Arwel Thomas.
Swansea finally regained their composure and produced tries for centre Mark Taylor, prop Chris Anthony with Simon Davies making sure of the two bonus points two minutes from time.
