The early bird, as they say, catches the worm and, by God, this is a wonderful worm to catch! St Lucia, in property-buying terms, is a little off radar for most British buyers, but we have to be honest and say that were absolutely buzzing about this prospect.

For the meagre price of pounds 140K (or pounds 120K) you get a holiday home (with adequate rental potential) that we think is extra special.

Three bedrooms and well-appointed fitted bathrooms and kitchens give this development an air of luxury that we reckon is sure to be popular.

From an investment perspective it appears to be sound, although the market is not quite as established as its neighbour Martinique.

We like this property because its thoughtfully laid out and appears to be rather charming with terraces and verandas on two sides to take advantage of the stunning views for those that get them.

The only other minor downside is its positioned on the north side of the island while the airport is at the other end.
