This issue of TECHNOS Quarterly marks a major shift - Brief Article
Michael F. SullivanOur longtime editor and friend, Mardell Raney, is now officially retired and off the masthead. Our founding editor, Carole Novak, is back in charge.
We are very grateful for Mardell's service. She did a wonderful job and produced a fine issue every quarter of her tenure. She charmed senators, presidents, and all sorts of renowned educators and business leaders and managed to produce a very thought-provoking journal without ever making an enemy. One seldom has the chance to work with someone who is both extremely competent and extremely nice. She is a wonderful person, and we will miss her. Of course, we wish her great happiness in retirement. We also have to thank her continually for taking the journal to maturity and making it a very respected outlet for considered thought.
At the same time, we are excited to have Carole back. Her vision created TECHNOS and made it a respected journal. Her high standards were the basis for what now exists, and I certainly believe that if anyone can take TECHNOS to an even higher level, it is Carole. She has continued to be involved, albeit from a distance, and I think you'll agree with me that this issue demonstrates a perfect hand-off between two top-notch professionals.
Watch for subtle and not-so-subtle changes in the months ahead as we commit ourselves to making TECHNOS even more worthy of your valuable time. Please also take a moment to review our Web site, www.technos.net/. You'll still see basic information and archived articles, but click on technos.net/cafe to see the lighter side of education. It is just one more small service we provide to our readers.
Please get back to us with your reactions to this issue or to our new Web site. We would very much like to hear your thoughts.
