Plenty of liquids - Brief Article
Matthew SmithI travel a lot internationally in my line of work. I always carry along a rehydration drink that I mix up prior to the flight. The product is called Rehydrate and it can be mixed into a liter bottle of water for a great pick-me-up when flying. No more dry mouth on long hauls, and it helps prevent jet lag as well!.
I also pack this when traveling in hotter climates. When I was in Luxor with my cousin, we were on a small guided tour with just one other couple. We came up out of a tomb and one of the other tourists was obviously feeling the heat. I shared my sports rehydration drink and granola bars I'd brought from America. The change in condition of the overheated tourist was remarkable.
I also carry along plastic zip-lock bags -- very handy when I want to pack something up for a snack later.
I make a point, too, of buying water in the airport and stashing it in my travel bag so that if I arrive late at my hotel I won't have to help myself to the very expensive water in the mini-bar. I developed this practice after once paying $8 for a half liter in Singapore.
I once carried six liters of water into Bombay on a business trip. I drank it for four days and was the only one in my delegation not to succumb to "Bombay belly."
