No such thing as a stupid question - On the Web - sexual orientation of pop stars - Brief Article

Trent J. Koland

Want to know what team your favorite pop star bats for? You're not alone. The sexual orientation of celebrities is one of the most popular queries on Internet search engines, say officials at Overture. corn, a company that tracks the specifics of searches launched on sites such as Yahoo! and MSN.

One of Overture's special tracking features shows that the top 10 music stars searched most often with the word gay in February were, in order: Ricky Martin, with 807 searches; American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, with 701; American Idol Kelly Clarkson, with 688; Britney Spears, with 611; Justin Timberlake, with 568; Eminem, with 524; Teen star Aaron Carter, with 484; Michael Jackson, with 446; Advocate cover boy, Robbie Williams, with 305; and Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, with 231.
