Dance to good health

Charles Turner and I met square dancing in March 1985 after his wife and square dance partner had died in January.
After dancing with the singles square group for several months, I called Charlie on June 6, 1985, and asked him to go to the Thursday night ballroom dance at Vinewood which I had been attending for several years.
This was the beginning of a long and lasting relationship. There hasn't been a Thursday night dance at Vinewood for more than 10 years; the place to go now is Croco Square Dance Hall.
A winter week may go like this: Sunday night could be ballroom dancing at Lawrence Senior Center or Osage City Senior Center, Monday night square dancing at Croco Hall, Tuesday night helping with square dance lessons at Croco Hall, Wednesday night ballroom dancing at the VFW or Moose lodge, Thursday night ballroom dancing with the Crystal Ballroom Dancers at Croco Hall, Friday night would be square dancing in Kansas City and Saturday night would be the club square dance at Croco Hall.
As you can see, dancing is a big part of our lives. And we still have time to go to the YWCA twice a week, where he swims and I do water exercises. We also travel to Broken Arrow, Okla., and Wichita to see grandkids play basketball, soccer, baseball and football.
All of this activity keeps us young. We would love to see you all out dancing --- it's a great thing for your health.
