IT is totally wrong for the family of soccer legend George Best not to allow his ex-wife Alex to see him in hospital.

Alex is, after all, the one who stuck by him when he had his liver transplant.

The same people who are at George's bed now were not there for him before.

At least George's son Calum is keeping Alex up to date with his progress through text messages.

Alex and George may not be on the best of terms but at a time like this, it is good that she can put aside petty differences.

I feel, deep down, she still loves George and I am sure like the rest of us prays that he gets well soon.
