DRUNKEN RAGE TV SARAH IS DUMPED BY AGENT
EXCLUSIVE by GILL SMITHAND here is the latest headline...TV newsgirl Sarah Heaney has been sacked by her showbiz agents.
Heaney's Glasgow-based agency, Star Management, ditched her just days after the Sunday Mirror revealed she'd been involved in a drunken brawl.
Star was responsible for booking the 35-year-old presenter's lucrative off-screen engagements. But yesterday Star boss Carol Meehan revealed the agency had ended its relationship with Heaney.
She said: "Integrity and loyalty is what our business is all about and the only thing I can confirm is that Sarah is no longer with Star Management.
"It was our decision."
Heaney's glamorous selection of photos and her showbiz CV were removed from the company's website following the decision.
The agency also represents other Scots celebrities including BBC news girl Jackie Bird, sports presenter Dougie Donnelly, Gaelic queen Cathy McDonald, TV interiors guru John Amabile, ex-Miss Scotland Nicola Jolly and Heaney's own newsroom colleague Shereen Nanjiani.
Last week the Sunday Mirror revealed how Heaney grabbed another woman by the throat after a night of drunken mayhem.
The blotto STV presenter grappled with the woman, a former friend, in China White's nightclub, before the pair were pulled apart by millionaire entrepreneur Chris Gorman, who had been having a quiet conversation with the woman.
The bust-up followed a night of free-flowing booze at the Scottish Style Awards.
Earlier in the night, Heaney had a verbal bust-up with one of Scotland's highest-profile showbiz fixers, Tessa Hartman, 36. We revealed how some of Scotland's biggest celebrities looked on in amazement as Heaney became embroiled in a war of words with the PR guru.
Sources close to Carol Meehan and her husband David, who are respected players in the entertainment industry, said they had decided that Heaney's antics were "inappropriate behaviour".
It's also thought Heaney's desperation to move to London to launch her career also played a part in the fall-out.
Heaney travels up and down to London most weekends to spend time with her jeweller husband Ed Adams who she married earlier this year.
Carol said: "Sarah's life is, especially at the weekends, very much in London now and it's very difficult when you've got people who are based in one place during the week and another place at weekends."
Heaney, a one-time girlfriend of Rangers owner David Murray, is an anchor for Scottish Television's flagship news programme Scotland Today.
During her four years with Star Management Heaney raked in a small fortune as a host on the corporate circuit earning upwards of pounds 500 a time.
Among her most recent off-screen appearances was a photocall to launch Scotland's search for the best photographer and a lavish fashion show by leading designer Amanda Wakeley in the posh Radisson Hotel in Glasgow.
But her boozy antics at the Scottish Style Awards seriously dented her reputation as a calm and collected news reader.
She then moved on to China Whites nightclub to take out her rage on her former pal.
