AM I hearing this right? A pounds 230 million building for MPs at Westminster, with trees at pounds 12,500 apiece, to cheer up our poor, downtrodden representatives? Come off it! It must be a joke.But something tells me it's not.

Meanwhile, the serious under- investment in our railway tracks becomes dramatically apparent. Let's think more of people's lives and less of MPs' comforts.

Let's get real.
