Football: Players taste of high life
DEREK SMITHNORTHERN Ireland players got a taste the big time this week after being treated to a private jet for the trip to Austria.
Player, officials and local media boarded a magnificent charter plane to Vienna last Sunday as a reward for the historic victory over England and to give the players every chance to get over the defeat by Wales the previous day.
Arsenal had previously used the jet to fly to a Champions League match this season and the Northern Ireland players certainly appreciated the gesture.
Unfortunately after a disappointing 2-0 defeat to the Austrians, it was back to scheduled flights for the return journey.
Still it was nice while it lasted.
