PACK your sun tan cream you're buying a second home abroad. Or at least you should be, considering the price of this hot property.

It seems to have the lot if you're looking for a one-bedroom apartment with nothing to do but move in and turn on the telly.

We've re-modelled loads of sunny Spanish homes but we have never tackled a good one-bedder with a price tag below 100 grand.

Majorca has worked hard to shake of its previous cheap and cheerful tag. There are some stunning districts in the region with homes owned by A-listers such as Catherine Zeta Jones, Bob Geldof and rugby legend Jonny Wilkinson.

This particular des res is positioned slightly inland but is still just a short walk from the beach and has great facilities nearby. It's got fitted wardrobes, air con, a private terrace, exotic communal gardens and a shared pool. Of course you'll be paying an annual premium for upkeep so check out these costs before signing on the dotted line.

And how about investment potential? Well there certainly seems to be room for growth at this starter level. Homes like this always have market appeal with first-time overseas buyers and a burgeoning ex-pat community. Majorca has seen excellent returns over the last year (in some areas up to 30 per cent).

While these rises are perhaps more related to properties beside the beach we feel this development is also a pretty safe bet.

And of course there's always the rental market which will help you get back some of your initial outlay.
