LAST week, your paper reported a model was claiming she had an affair with David Beckham.

Initially, I was doubtful Beckham would risk having his private life splashed all over the newspapers, but after thinking about it, I suppose it does make a kind of sense.

He might have been trying to take media attention off his recent disastrous performances on the pitch.
