FASHION; NO SHRINKING VIOLET ...

I love playing Violet and being in the Rovers, because I feel part of things all the time. Ive been in Corrie for about eight months now, but its gone so quickly. At first, it was intimidating meeting screen legends like Bill Roache (Ken), John Savident (Fred) and Sue Nicholls (Audrey) all I could think about was being a kid and seeing her in Rentaghost. It was like a dream, with all these famous people around me. But everyones great. Ryan Thomas, who plays my boyfriend, Jason, is lovely, and Sally Lindsay (Rovers landlady Shelley) is like my Barmaid Mum. When we went to the National TV Awards, I was very nervous, so she held my hand up the red carpet.

I always wanted to be an actress. I went to East 15 drama college in London, which used to have a reputation for being a bit way out. One German teacher used to say, Now breathe through your bottom. I didnt know what the hell was going on! Ive tried to encourage Bill Roache to try it before a scene no, just kidding.

Theres a lot of me in Violet, but shes more upfront, with better fashion sense. Im a bit disappointing in real life. The other day, I was filling up my petrol tank, and this kid came up and asked, Are you that girl out of Coronation Street? I said, Yes, all smiley, and she went, Dont they pay you much? Your car is crap!

When Im not working, I like cooking, playing Playstation and going for drinks with workmates, like Kate Ford (Tracey Barlow). Ive been with my boyfriend since drama school. Hes an actor too. I dont talk about him, to avoid The Curse Of Hello, but now he worries I dont like him because I never mention him.

I cant wait to see whats next for Violet ooh, please let her have an affair with Mike Baldwin! But Im just happy to be behind the bar of the Rovers, pulling pints.
