Football: MIDDLESBRO 0 MAN UTD 2
SCOTT WILSONRYAN GIGGS scored one goal and made the other as United kept the pressure on Chelsea and Arsenal.
Giggs is seeking a new contract at Old Trafford and his performance here will have done his chances no harm.
On nine minutes he sent in a shot which Mark Schwartzer could only push it out to Darren Fletcher who scored his first league goal.
And Giggs sealed it after 79 minutes with a brilliant solo effort. Sir Alex Ferguson said: "We're in a great vein of form at the moment playing with great determination and consistency.
"There was a 15-minute spell after half-time when Boro changed their tactics and made it difficult for us but we changed as well and got back in charge."
