Football: Chris proves his Worth to new boss; NORWICH 1 GILLINGHAM 0
DANIEL PRICECANARIES' caretaker-boss Nigel Worthington celebrated with a rare smile as his side claimed a hard-fought win in his first game in charge.
The dour Irishman rarely gives much away but he must have been happy as Norwich ended a run of five defeats.
Worthington said: "To win was the most important thing. Hopefully this will lift everybody.
"We had to stand up to Gillingham and match them physically, toe to toe, and I thought all our players did a terrific job. Hopefully we have now stopped the rot."
Norwich kept their cool in a feisty match to leapfrog Gillingham courtesy of a spectacular late winner from Welsh wing- back Chris Llewellyn.
Alex Notman sent Darren Kenton racing down the right, and his far- post cross was headed in.STAR MAN: Alex Notman.
