DNA lead in Emma killer hunt
ANDREW BLACKDETECTIVES hunting Emma Caldwell's killer revealed yesterday they were examining a male DNA sample found near her body.
The 27-year-old prostitute, who worked on Glasgow streets, was found dead near Biggar, South Lanarkshire, on May 8.
Police have now urged anyone who used the area for sex to come forward.
Glasgow football fans are also being called on to help in the hunt for her killer. Her image was shown on the big screen at half- time during yesterday's Rangers match at Ibrox with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
The same will happen at Parkhead during the Old Firm clash next month.
Detective Supt Willie Johnston said: "I urge anyone who can provide the identity of any male person who has used the scene for a sexual purpose where her body was found to come forward.
"This may assist in identifying an outstanding male profile found very close to where Emma's body was found."
