UP until last year, when still working for the BBC, we had an apartment in Birmingham and one of the blocks we particularly admired was Britannic Park, an exclusive residential pocket in Moseley. We got to know the area like the back of our hands as it was just round the corner from where we were filming. Anyway, its a fab building that has now attained icon status in the city, but as much as we love it we have to be honest. These days theres LOTS of competition in Brums apartment industry and things have moved on a little. Finishes are becoming better and more luxurious in newer blocks and specifications are often higher. So shop around.

However and its a BIG however this apartment is EXTREMELY well- priced bearing in mind what you get. Generally speaking, two- bedders are well over pounds 200k here, so to find one at pounds 182K is really good news. It has a fair-sized kitchen and shower room, as well as an en suite to the master bedroom. Theres even a balcony with garden views and an allocated parking space. But the benefits dont stop there. The big bonus with Britannic is that it has its own residents gym and swimming pool. OK, facilities like these (and the day-time concierge) add up to over a grand a year in service charges but youll be able to ditch the hundred quid or so a month you currently pay for your existing gym. Bingothis ones on your doorstep.
