Miracle escape as boy misses acid vat
JON HARRISA TEENAGER miraculously missed a vat of acid by two inches when he fell 12 feet through a factory skylight.
Thomas Hurst, 15, landed on a wooden walkway three feet wide breaking his pelvis and right arm. He narrowly missed the vat of sulphuric acid which would have killed him instantly.
Thomas was treated at Bury General Hospital in Manchester and was later released. Last night his mother Lisa, of Radcliffe, Manchester said: "My lad is very lucky to be alive. He suffered some very serious injuries, but I'm just grateful he's alive."
Thomas fell while trying to retrieve a football from the roof of a colour anodising factory.
