G McMahon ClareTHANK God Alan Hughes didn't join the seven-hour waiting list for treatment at a Belfast hospital. If he had he probably wouldn't be alive today.
The surgeons in Beaumont warned him how close he was to death, and if he had joined the queue in Belfast his appendix probably would have burst.
Alan was right to drive back to Dublin, even though he must have been in terrible pain.
It goes to show that at times like this you should always obey your instincts.
