I AM no fan of unnecessary operations and the idea of someone having cosmetic surgery - their body sliced, shaped and injected - in the pursuit of something as vain as looking good just appals me.

That said I must admit I was gobsmacked by the results achieved on some of the blokes on last week's centre pages.

They showed great improvement.

I just hope all the money they spent and their new looks bring them some lasting happiness.
