Del Boy's creator in TV debut
STEVE CLARKONLY Fools and Horses creator John Sullivan is to make his TV debut - more than 25 years after penning his first sitcom.
Britain's top comedy writer will appear in new series Roger, Roger, a bittersweet BBC comedy drama starring Robert Daws as the boss of a London minicab firm.
Sullivan, 56, said: "For episode two, I wrote in a barman in a snooker hall. He just has three or four words to say and the producer said 'I can't offer such a stupid, tiny part to a real actor. We need someone with no talent who is incredibly cheap' and then he looked across at me. So I gave it a go."
South Londoner Sullivan joked: "David Jason and Robert De Niro can sleep easy, as I don't think I'm going to be getting any of their roles!"
Roger, Roger begins on BBC1 later this month.
The next - and final - episode of Only Fools and Horses is expected to be screened at Christmas.
