SIR PATRICK'S MOON MOAN
ALISTAIR MUNROVETERAN astronomer Sir Patrick Moore has hit out at the BBC for making him come to Scotland next month to see a rare type of solar eclipse.
Sky At Night presenter Sir Patrick, 80, had hoped to capture the full effect of the event by taking a film crew to Iceland. Instead, he will be scanning the sky in Durness, Northern Scotland, when the moon covers all but the sun's outer ring on May 31 - and will not get the most spectacular view of the event. He said last night: "How many people did the BBC sent to Iraq to cover the war?
"I cannot beleive they are saying they cannot afford to send people from the longest-running TV series in the world to the best place to view this eclipse."
