Football: TOMMY TROUBLE FOR JOE

SUBSTITUTE Tommy Johnson piled the pressure on boss Joe Kinnear as Forest pressed the self-destruct button against managerless Gills.

Gillingham were still reeling after player/boss Andy Hessenthaler stepped down earlier in the week, but they came back from the dead to go above Forest in the table.

Gareth Taylor's fourth league goal of the season gave Forest the perfect start, and they were heading for their first away win in the Championship until the 76th minute.

Wes Morgan was adjudged to have handled a backheel by substitute Matt Jarvis, and Darius Henderson equalised from the penalty spot.

But worse to come for the visitors when Johnson took advantage of panic in the Forest rearguard to snatch a late winner - his first goal for the club.

Taylor put Forest ahead in the 14th minute after Andy Reid picked him out on the edge of the six-yard box with a cross.

And Reid came close to doubling the lead with a 25-yard rocket which Gills keeper Jason Brown did well to tip over.

But the game exploded into life when referee Clive Penton pointed to the spot and Henderson sent Paul Gerrard the wrong way from the spot in the 76th minute.

Joe Kinnear's side then lost the plot completely, with Henderson hitting both posts from close range before Johnson appeared for the winner.
